Central Market phase 2- move to Kejetia to avoid ‘blow’-traders told


The11 member steering Committee of the Central Market has urged traders at Central Market to move to the newly constructed Kejetia market for the commencement of the face 2 of Central Market.

In an interview with Silver Fm’s Akwadaa Nyame monitored by SirJakeonline.com, Mr. Daniel Ankomah, Chairman of the Committee disclosed that, allocation and keys to Kejetia Market has been given to most of the traders so he don’t know the reason they (traders) are not willing to move to their shops at Kejetia.

He said, all they traders should understand and help the 11 member board to let the visions of authorities to fulfill the promise of the government and Asante Hene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II to construct the face 2 of the central market.

He advised traders of central market to move from that place later by today because there are setting buildings which are weak so they should evacuate their things before the worst happen to them.

“I can’t see the reason they are not willing to move to Kejetia while keys have been given to knowing very much that, Central market is not safe for them now”, he said.

He stated emphatically to his fellow traders to move for their own good to contribute to the effort of the government and Asante Hene.

He also added that, because the government is in a haste to start the face two of the central market, he is therefore urging other traders who have not receive their allocations and keys yet, to come to them this morning for their keys and other arrangement associated with it.

The constitution has given the Electoral Commission the right and mandate to change voters register in the country, Kojo Agyei Darko, a Local Governance Expert claims.  

According to him, the old voters register is not credible so the Electoral Commission has every right to change the voters register and every system involved.

He also made some statistics concern the eligible voters in the country which shows that, Ghana is an aged Nation which is not true.

He added that the Opposition Parties who are saying the new voters register which is going to be costly is false accusation if compare to the one made by Charlotte Osei, Former EC Chair.



 He made this statement in an interview with Nana Kwabena Ampratwum on Silver Fm's Morning show sited by SIRJAKEONLINE.COM  

Mean while Hassan Ayariga, founder of the All People's Congress (APC) has condemn the decision of the EC claiming looking the cost involved and timing of the process.
