Mrs. Christine Adjei Glover, Resource Coordinator for the Anglican Church Kumasi has advice women to be effective and empowered to know their right and obligations as a woman in the society.

She made this statement when the Anglican Diocese of Kumasi Women’s Ministry had workshop training for the women in the Anglican Church at Afari in the Atwima Nwabiagya South District and was supported by Global Women’s Fund of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, USA.

Speaking on the theme, Training income savings and income generating skills (residential). The 5 days workshop  was to equip the women with handy work like soap making, Beas making, pastries making etc.

“It is my dream, that in 5 years time women can have their own work to call a halt at social vices like prostitution and the others”, she added.

She finally revealed some financial challenges they are facing and called for special aid from other organizations.



Miss Patricia Asante, a graduate and beneficially   from the Kumasi Polytechnic and was also the Prefect in charge of the Participants of the workshop lauds the organizers of the seminar and also advice the participants to go and work with what they have learn at the workshop program.

she finally added that one can not do one job and survive these days so even if  you are doing government work or any work, you can add handy work to push the family forward.

Fire has stormed two houses at Abrepo Bronikrom in the Bantama Constituency.

According to the Victim, Mr. James Oppong He really can’t identify the main source of the fire outbreak because he sent his ward to a nearby School in the Bronikrom, so on his way to the house that he saw his pregnant wife shouting for help as the house has already set ablaze.

He disclosed that, all their belongings have been destroyed by the fire including their mobile phones.

He revealed that the Fire service called but they did not get there on time.  

Silver news seizes the opportunity to have an interview with the fire officers about the situation but they declined the invitation of the reporter. 

Those who help curb the situation down was furious with the fire officers considering the time they (fire officers) arrived.

Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso, CEO, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has revealed the performance of the Komfo Anokye Hospital in the first half of the year.


Addressing the press during the 2019 Media Review disclosed that, they  count for every patient who was able to attend to them in the first half or the whole year.


He said some common case like OPD has reduced in the hospital due to the increase in private hospitals and others in the country. So as they are going forward, Komfo Anokye is going to admit only serious cases and handle the common cases to the small hospitals.


He also added that if the government is able to complete the Military Hospital at Afari and the Siwa Hospital a lot of figures are going reduce in the Region.


“We are expecting Special care service as common cases is reducing in the health sector” he said.


 He stated that there are things the government is puting in place to and also what the Hospital is capable which has contributed to the development of the hospital.

He therefore finalized his concern on visitors who comes up on a long distance to pay visit to their patient at Komfo Anokye Hospital of which they are not having a place to reside when they come to the hospital. According to him looking at where most of the people squat is really dangerous they are prone to some diseases which can be contracted from the air they breath in.
