Mrs.
Christine Adjei Glover, Resource Coordinator for the Anglican Church Kumasi has
advice women to be effective and empowered to know their right and obligations
as a woman in the society.
She made
this statement when the Anglican Diocese of Kumasi Women’s Ministry had workshop
training for the women in the Anglican Church at Afari in the Atwima Nwabiagya
South District and was supported by Global Women’s Fund of the Episcopal
Diocese of New York, USA.
Speaking on
the theme, Training income savings and income generating skills (residential). The
5 days workshop was to equip the women
with handy work like soap making, Beas making, pastries making etc.
“It is my
dream, that in 5 years time women can have their own work to call a halt at
social vices like prostitution and the others”, she added.
She finally
revealed some financial challenges they are facing and called for special aid
from other organizations.
Miss
Patricia Asante, a graduate and beneficially from
the Kumasi Polytechnic and was also the Prefect in charge of the Participants
of the workshop lauds the organizers of the seminar and also advice the participants to go and work with what they have learn at the workshop program.
she finally added that one can not do one job and survive these days so even if you are doing government work or any work, you can add handy work to push the family forward.
