"We all know what needs to be done" - Osagyefo Oliver Barker Vormawor to Ghanaians

Political activist and Convener for the Fix the Country movement Osagyefo Oliver Barker Vormawor has asserted Ghanaians know what needs to be done to put pressure on our political leaders and other state institutions to do the needful but that is not what we are doing as a nation.

On his Facebook wall monitored by sirjakeonline.com, the Lawyer said the majority of the poor people are waiting for the Kingdom of God because they have Jesus Christ instead of fighting for a good course to put Ghana in a better spot in its democratic dispensation.

"We all know what needs to be done to give Ghana a fighting chance. But the poor people have Jesus Christ. So they will rather wait for the kingdom of God", He wrote.

Use authorize means to provide electricity Meters to customers - MPs, ECG, others told

Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals Association (CEWPA) have charged MPs, ECG officials and Assembly Members to go to the appropriate office in distributing electricity meters to customers.

According to CEWPA, their main mandate in accordance with the law, Legislative instrument Act 2013, Li 208 is to make sure household and industrial wiring and electrical products are protected.

They said, the Section 7 of the law doesn't allow an electrician without a permit from the Energy Commission to do household or industrial wiring apart from the high tension poles which is to be operate by ECG workers.

Speaking at a press briefing, Rev. Engineer Agyenim Boateng Head of Public Relations, Coordinator for Inspectors in Ashanti Region stated that, the law was made to enforce and protect the work of electricity in the country but unfortunately, that's not how it's being done in the country.

He said, the authorities of the Association have come to realize that, majority of houses and market centers being razed down by fire are the cause of electrical wiring malpractices among electricians who are not having license from Energy Commission.

"A lot of issues are going on in the country which is worrying, it is only the Electricity Company Of Ghana (ECG) and the Volta River Authority (VRA) who are permitted to give Meters to customers, but you will see an MP sharing meters as a result of his Political interest or an assembly man given meters to his constituents, some ECG workers also through dubious mean do same which is wrong as a country", he stressed.

To this not withstanding, he intimated that, about 70% of our power crisis are coming from electricians especially concerning fire outbreak in our various houses.

He therefore urged urged the public to ask for the license of an electrician hire to wire a house.
